The next May 7th, Tona (Osona) will held the 1st Catalonia Coworking Day, an event that will gather coworking managers, professionals and companies “to promote this new formula of work that seeks the innovation and the economic dinamization”, as Jordi Silvente, president of Associació Coworking de Catalunya (Cowocat), said. The program includes round tables, workshops and a space in which the participants will offer solutions to different issues. Xavier Verdaguer, entrepreneur working at Sillicon Valley, will be one of the speakers.
“The aim of this meeting is to talk about the benefits and contributions of the coworking and how it helps professionals and companies”, explains Santi Casas, manager of CoWorkingTona, and one of the event organisers with Cowocat. “There are thousands of coworkers in Catalonia that have seen how the coworking has become a succesful formula to carry out their business projects and make them grow”, says Silvente. Cowocat has registered more than 160 coworking spaces in Catalonia, a 60% of which are situated in Barcelona. “And this will keep growing; we have more coworkings every day”, adds Casas.
The 1st Catalonia Coworking Day will begin at 10:00 and it will finish, aproximatly, at 18:00. The program has a creative challenge, allowing the participation and communication of solutions for companies that will listen several proposals during the day. In this way they pretend to relate supply and demand, while allowing the newtworking between coworkers and professionals. The presentation of success projects will be important. Cases like Les Golfes, a community of artists promoted by CoEspai (Girona); La Magrana, a coworking space from Valls, rewarded by the Tarragona’s Deputation; or Cowocat_Rural, a network of coworking spaces working through the TIC in rural surroundings of Catalonia. Free registration on the event’s website: www.coworkingtona.com.
Among the speakers, entrepreneur Xavier Verdaguer, from Silicon Valley, is one of the most importants. Via Skype, he will talk about the international project Imagine Express, based on coworking. The tonenc Marc Aleix, who participated in the last edition, will also speak along with Verdaguer. The event includes a roundtable that will discuss future opportunities for coworking and two workshops, one on taxation for coworking managers, and another to coworkers and professionals about ways to add new value to their business. The opening of the event will be held by Josep Salom, mayor of Tona.
Besides the organizers, the 1st Catalonia Coworking Day has the collaboration of the Municipality of Tona and companies such as Gerall Consulting, Pedrosa Busquets & Associates and Monmar Communicació.
