Spain, Spain, Spain… land of the good weather and amazing people. As a coworking space settle in one of the best cities in Spain, Barcelona, we cannot avoid to think how can we relate the concepts entrepeneur, startup, and investment with a social-technological city that offers us the posibility to make our business grow and let our ideas go with the flow of its vibrant environment.

To us, the relation between what we do and the place we live in is too important to not comment about it.

That is the reason why we have decided to compile 5 good reasons for you (entrepreneurs, investors, business people, business enthusiasts, and startup builders) to start consider Spain a good new option to take your business to a new high level of improvement and development.

Because of all the posibilities you will find in here will amaze you, we know the next video we have found about entrepreneurship in Spain will give you the right impulse to go ahead!

1. Why The Ley de emprendedores (Entrepreneurs’ Law) Should Be The First Step To Take On Your Way To Invest In Spain?

Easy: Because this Law is aimed to foreigners interested in applying for visas and residence permits in Spain to carry out investment activities or entrepreneurship in the country.

The Law 14/2013, of 27 September 2013, on support for entrepreneurs and their internationalisation will give you the opportunity to request a residence visa in Spain in order to carry out your economic activities.

What do you have to do to apply? Just follow the instructions presented by the Spanish Employment Ministry.

The weakest point of the Law: It makes it clear that it does not apply to EU citizens as these are beneficiaries of the rights of free movement and residence established by the EU.

2. A Friendly Support System For Investors

If you are looking to invest in some Spanish properties, the friendly support system for investors developed by the Spanish Administration could be the right option for you.

You can have a residence permit for one year or a residence permit for two years (that can be renewed) if you are making a significant investment in Spain or if you are developing business projects in Spain considered being of general interest.

All the information you need to know about it (requirements, documentation, benefits, etc.) you will find it in this official instructions for the Investor Residence.

3. Startups And Highly Qualified Professionals Are Welcome Too

In order to attract talent to the Spanish business sector, the residence permit for the duration of a contract or a document evidencing the existence of a professional relationship between two parties, has been thought for highly qualified professionals and startup builders whom want to develop their business activities in Spain.

This approach, says the Spanish Government, “is to foster the internationalisation of Spanish enterprise and enhance the competitiveness of the Spanish economy.”

How to get going and all the information you need (requirements, documentation, benefits, etc.) is available in the official instructions for Highly Skilled Professional Residence.

4. Are You An Employee From An International Company?

The Entrepreneurs’ Law also allows foreign workers to enter Spain as part of their employment, professional work or professional training with a company or corporate group established in Spain… or another country. Hence, there is no need to be an entrepreneur or investor in order to have the opportunity to work, legally, in Spain.

All you need to do is have your company applying for a permit trough the Large Business and Strategic Groups Unit in Spain. Once the permit has been awarded, if the applicant is outside Spain, he or she must apply for a visa.

If you want to know more about this option, just follow the link to the official instructions for the Inter-Corporate Transferee Residence.

5. The Weather, Always The Weather

And yes, because we all love the sun, the blue skies, and the enjoyable Spanish weather that suits everyone, one of the most important reasons to be an entrepreneur in Spain has to be its weather. Happiness is also where do we live. A communion between our jobs, our ideas, and the environment, the landscape that surrounds us, is important to achieve our goals as entrepreneurs, business people, investors, startup builders, or coworkers.
